4 Board & Video Games for the next barkada hangout!

PlayGround Hobby Café hosts casual gaming competitions every Tuesday night at their restaurant in Monumento, Caloocan City. The interactive environment is perfect for finding new opponents for games you already love, and they serve meals to keep you from going hungry over the hours of playing!

1. Dixit

This party game is easy to pick up but you’ll discover more of its tricks and twists with more players.

The game starts with one player, called the “storyteller”, looking at his or her hand of six cards and creating a sentence based on just one of those cards. Afterward, every other player has to select one of their own cards to match that sentence. The group then has to guess individually which card is the true card of the storyteller.

The trick of the game is to offer sentences or phrases during your turn which is neither too difficult nor too obvious. The more you know how your opponents think, the better!

2. Rhino Hero

This family-friendly card stacker is about a hero who climbs buildings to look for criminals. The downside is that he’s a very heavy rhino who sometimes makes buildings wobble!

Spice up the competition by stacking your cards high, forcing your opponents to place cards in the most inopportune places. Win this game by playing all your roof cards, or by having your competitor cause the building to collapse!

PlayGround hosts Dexterity Tuesday every Tuesday starting at 10:00 AM. All you have to do to join is order a food or drink item per player.

3. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

The biggest characters from the PlayStation 3 era still hold a place in many a gamer’s hearts.

This PS3 title features everyone from Big Daddy in the BioShock series to the famous Jak and Daxter. Kratos from God of War also makes an appearance as a playable character.

Take part in the tournament at PlayGround every Tuesday from 12:00 PM onwards.

4. WWE 2K18

PlayGround hosts Royal Rumble matches every Tuesday, and they’re doing it on the newest WWE game.

With every release of a new year’s wrestling game, players get new characters and move sets, even new ways of fighting not previously done in older titles.

The advantage of such a new game version? Everyone starts out as equals; given of course that someone doesn’t pick up a copy of the game beforehand.
